CBB For Wednesday 11/30/2011

We'll begin our first recap of CBB next Monday now that CFB has slowed down.  We released these plays earlier today to try and get the best of the number on Twitter.  (As always you can follow us @TheSportsMarket.)

We beat the market in all instances except for Pittsburgh.  The only one we would not play at current market prices is Dayton (-9).  Good luck tonight.

Dayton -7.5
Wisconsin +8

SDSU -2.5

Week 12 NFL Recap and Tuesday CBB

Rough one in MNF and on Thanksgiving Day for that matter in the NFL.  Luckily we had a very successful Sunday to make up for it.  We went 8-6 on the week, picking up 1.8 units.  For the year we're now 69-60-1, up 9.9 units for a 3.81% return.

We released these plays earlier today to try and get the best of the number on Twitter.  (As always you can follow us @TheSportsMarket.) We would still play Miami OH at the current price (+11), but would pass on Ohio St. at the current -7.5.  Below is what we put out earlier:

CBB
1

Ohio St. -5.5
Miami OH +12.5

Week 12 CFB Recap and MNF

A very successful end to our season.  Despite the loss on our large Penn St. play, we were able to make up for it in other areas.  We went 14-6 and picked up 13.7 units on the week.  For the year we're now 151-125 (54.7%), up 25.8 units giving us a 4.55% return.  That pretty much wraps up the CFB Regular Season.  We may have a few positions this week, but will likely tone it down until Bowl Season.

In MNF tonight we have two positions:

NFL
2

NYG +7.5
NYG / NO under 51

Week 11 CFB Recap and MNF

We grinded through another profitable week in CFB.  Nothing to get too excited about, but anytime there's a plus sign, we'll take it.  For the week we went 16-14 and picked up 2.2 units.  For the year we're now 137-119, up 12.1 units for a 2.35% return.

Tonight in MNF feel free to call us square.  We liked NE earlier in the week at 14.5 and waited to see if it would drop to 14.  A mistake on us, but we want to grab it before it gets any higher.  Tonight's MNF position:

2

New England -16.5

Good luck, and as always don't forget to follow us on Twitter @TheSportsMarket, this maybe a good spot to play the second half under if NE jumps out all over the Chiefs.  We'll tweet that off if that's a position we take.

Week 9 - CFB Friday Night and Then Some

We had a nice night last night going 3-0.  Tonight we have one position and are getting down on a few more for tomorrow early.  We're also going to have two 3  positions for the first time this year.  These were positions we would have taken with our own handicapping, but were also confirmed by our model.  We also are making sure to get down early on a few NFL games for Sunday.

Friday Night:

2
Central Michigan / Kent under 44

Saturday

3
Northwestern +17.5 - We really like Northwestern in this spot and despite playing Nebraska last week, think they're very overrated.  They haven't really beaten anyone other than Michigan St. and got them in a perfect let down spot.  Two of our algorithms liked this, so we decided to upgrade the positions.

TCU/ Wyoming under 58 - Our model likes this play and we're upgrading it based on the weather.  Tomorrow in Laramie it's calling for not only 3-5 inches of snow but winds in the mid-20s and gusts into the mid-high 30s. A common misnomer is that snow creates low scores (how'd that work for WV/Rutgers?).  Its not necessarily the snow that creates the unders, but the wind.  Obviously wind often accompanies the snow, so playing in a snowstorm and playing in snow (when the storm has passed) are two different things.  With the high winds expected tomorrow we're upgrading this position.

2

Notre Dame -13.5
La Tech +3.5
MS -1.5
Cincinnati / Pittsburgh under 54.5
South Florida / Rutgers under 49
Army / Air Force under 59
Tulane / SMU under 52.5

1
Alabama -4.5
Boise St. -42

Sunday NFL

2
Cleveland +10.5
San Fran -3.5
Cincinnati +3
GB -5.5
Miami +4

Week 9 - Thursday Night CFB

Tonight we have a slight lean towards Boston College, but will be passing.  Florida St. has played very well since the return of E.J. Manuel.  We have 3 positions for tonight's games.  Good luck!

2

Tulsa +2
Tulsa / Central Florida under 49
Florida St. / Boston College under 47

Week 8 NFL Recap and Tuesday Night CFB

A very promising start to Sunday unwound a little and and we hopped in the juicer going 6-6 this week.  For the year that now brings us to 35-38, -8.7 units and a -6.27% return.

Last night we released a 2 unit play on the Cleveland Browns at +10.5 via our Twitter account @TheSportsMarket.  This game feels about a field goal too high for us.  The Browns have one of the most underrated defenses in the NFL and it should keep them in most games this year, or at least from getting blow out.  Also, Peyton Hillis may return this week.

Tonight our model actually likes both the side and the total:

2

Northern Illinois +10
Northern Illinois / Toledo under 68

We also have an additional early week CFB position for Saturday.  Northwestern +17.5 @ Nebraska.  Nebraska was able to take advantage of an emotionally spent Spartan team last week.  We thought they've been a bit overrated all year, and my be hitting their peak in how the market perceives them in the post-Wisconsin loss portion of this season.
